Your wedding gown is more than a dress , it is craftsmanship, memory, and emotion woven into fabric. Handcrafted in the UK and designed around the woman wearing it, every Caroline Castigliano gown deserves thoughtful care from the moment it arrives to long after the last dance.

This guide will ensure your gown remains as beautiful and timeless as the day you first stepped into it. 

Before the Wedding

Congratulations on your beautiful Caroline Castigliano gown! Your dress should have been delivered on a Caroline Castigliano hanger, packed and covered in Caroline Castigliano tissue

• Release straps or shoulders from the hanger - no weight should rest on them.

• Keep your gown inside the white bridal carrier when transporting.

• Lay flat on the back seat of the car to avoid creasing.

• Hang high on arrival, keep tissue inside, pull out skirts and petticoats.

• Cover with a clean cotton sheet to protect from dust.

• Professional pressing recommended, NEVER press lace, beading, or corsetry.

• Lay out shoes and undergarments the night before.

On the Wedding Day

• Remove tissue, undo buttons and inner corset before stepping in.

• Remove and safely keep hanging loops.

• Lace corset evenly, one side at a time, until snug and aligned.

• Use the hand loop at the train  - never lift the skirt at hip level.

• Ask your maid of honour to secure the bustle after the first dance.

After the celebration, resist the urge to treat any marks yourself. Makeup, wine or food should be left entirely to a specialist , water and household stain removers can permanently set the stain.

Reattach the hanging loops, return your gown to its Caroline Castigliano hanger, and place it carefully inside the white bridal carrier before transporting it to a reputable bridal dry cleaner. For long-term preservation, it should be stored in a bridal box, wrapped in acid-free tissue.
