Six years after they met, Simon proposed by in a sleeper train cabin on the way up to Edinburgh after surprising her with a weekend trip. The bride says “That weekend was surreal, and the best weekend of my life”.

How did you pick your venue?

First, we chose our planner. Jadee from Watermelon Collection. Second, we chose our country. This was determined by family ties. We then moved onto selecting our venue. After arduous Instagram stalking, watching countless videos of weddings held there and plenty of video conference calls we decided to go with MolenVliet, the landscape was everything we wanted.

What did you like the most about your Caroline Castigliano designer wedding gown?

My mother wanted me to wear a ball gown and I wanted a form-fitting dress, so, by the time we reached our final dress appointment with no success, we were disagreeing and pretty discouraged. But that was before walking into Caroline Castigliano Knightsbridge store. When I described our wedding venue and that I wanted my dress to look timeless, while also being able to run, jump and twirl around in it, Lucy, the sales assistant said she had to put me in the Tertia. It was love at first sight! The delicate camisole top crafted in ivory Guipure lace, layered over Chantilly lace with barely-there rouleau loop straps. And how the lace appliqué met the silk organza skirt (with its pockets!). It was as breathtaking as the verbiage required to describe it!
