Helen & Andrew’s English Country Fair Wedding

Helen and Andrew became Mr & Mrs Humphrey-Taylor on 16 August 2015 in North Herefordshire. The couple married at Helen’s parents local church, St Leonard’s Church at Yarpole with the reception held at Burton Court in Eardisland.

The bride looked stunning in the Caroline Castigliano Captivating designer wedding gown which she bought through our stockist Jean Jackson Couture. The bride says:

“When choosing my wedding dress my one stipulation was that I wanted to be able to run in it, which brought some strange looks from those I mentioned it to.  Not away from the altar, as was the assumption made, but to be able to move freely and lightly which felt right with our romantic theme.  The Captivating dress allowed me to do just that, the flowing skirt was beautifully soft and the exquisite lace bodice made it fit for a princess.  The dress was perfect, and I finished it with a pink belt with lace trim”.

The couple decided on an English country fair theme with pink, ivory and gold as the palette. The beautiful flowers were provided by The Herefordshire Flower Studio and reflected the softness the bride was looking for. The bouquets were made of sweet avalanche roses, hydrangeas, astilbe, dill, pink lisianthas, waxflowers, rosemary, sage and eucalyptus with flowing jasmine trails.

The bride spent the morning getting ready at her parents house with her bridesmaids while the groom prepared with his groomsmen and family at local converted barns right opposite the church. The bridesmaids were in three slightly different shades of pink and a navy dress for Helen’s sister. Andrew was in midnight blue Armani with his groomsmen matching.

Helen added balloons as an extra touch to the wedding and gave a surprise thank you speech to everyone. At the end of the speech she gave the floral center pieces from the tables to particularly special girls who had helped with the wedding and asked everyone to take a balloon from the table and go outside and enjoy the sunshine.

For the first dance, the bride removed her veil and the straps on her wedding dress, which showed off the dress even more and left her free to dance the night away.

Helen’s top top for brides-to be is:

“Remember to walk down the aisle sllooooowwwwlllyyyy!  The temptation is to run to your groom, but everyone wants to see the dress so take your time and enjoy every step”.
