Where and when did you get engaged?

We got engaged in March 2022 with an antique diamond. It was a beautiful sunny spring day walking our Cocker Spaniel, Louis, on our favourite beach: Tramore Beach, County Waterford.

Where did you get married?

We got married on August 12, 2023. My childhood priest, Father Tom Ryan married us in Ennis Cathedral and our reception was in Dromoland Castle, Co Clare.

Why did you choose your venue?

Dromoland Castle is a very special place for both my family, and for Neil and me. My family home is on the estate, and we were lucky enough to spend time there together over the past few years for needed weekend escapes and reunions during covid times. We knew we wanted to share this beautiful place with our close family and friends so it was a dream being able to host our reception there.

Did you have a theme or any specific décor?

We had a black tie wedding which felt most appropriate for such a beautiful castle. As both a post covid wedding and a first family wedding on both sides of our family, we knew we wanted a big party! We had fireworks and the best 80s cover band, Spring Break, to keep everyone on the dancefloor all evening.

How did you feel in your Castigliano gown?

I had seen and tried on the Nicolette dress in an Irish boutique and knew I wanted to have a bespoke version of it. I had tried a variety of other styles, but the simple silhouette of this dress stood out to me the most as it had both a romantic and classic feel. I felt at ease from my very first appointment at Knightsbridge! Caroline and Monika perfected my vision of how I could look and feel in the Nicolette. It was fitted to cascade down gently over my hips which allowed me to have a fitted, sleek look while remaining comfortable and confident all day. I was even able to have detachable sleeves for a late night look! I would really recommend, to any bride to be, making an appointment in the Knightsbridge store.

Best moment of the day?

It is so hard to pick one moment! But the one moment I can place myself back in to capture all the feelings on the day would be walking down the isle with my father. Our quartet, Capriccio String Quartet, played the most beautiful rendition of Caribbean Blue by Enya, and the sun filled the cathedral. I felt so confident in my dress as all eyes were watching and I was just so excited to stand up on the alter beside Neil.
